‘According to a Chicago alderman, a 14-year-old girl trying to walk her dog in ‘Back of the Yards’ was shot in the head after being questioned about her gang involvement.

According to police, three unknown individuals approached them and inquired about their gang connections. The youngster stated that she was not a member of a gang, but that her mom was. That, according to the alderman, was the “trigger” for one of the guys to start firing and chase them down the road.

The teen was shot in the head. She was in serious condition when she was admitted to Comer Children’s Hospital.

Lopez expressed optimism that this will serve as a wake-up call not just for the community, but also for the parents who are still entrenched in gang culture. He stated that the lives of children are at stake.
