Following the explosion of illegal fireworks on Wednesday night, at least 17 individuals were hurt, houses were damaged, and several automobiles requiring repairs.

It occurred while the Los Angeles Police Department’s bomb squad was transporting approximately 5,000 pounds of the seized items.

A 27-year-old male was also detained on suspicion of bringing the fireworks from out of state with the intent of reselling them during the July 4th weekend.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, nine policemen from the Los Angeles Police Department and one special agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives were injured. Three individuals were hospitalized with critical injuries, while three others were hospitalized with lesser ailments. One individual was examined for injuries but was not sent to the hospital, reported NBC4.
