A middle school teacher in Oklahoma is facing felony charges after it was claimed she sexted a 16-year-old boy after telling him she’d ‘heard he liked her.’
Ivy Reneau, 28, is charged with using technology to engage in sexually explicit communication with a minor, and an arrest warrant has been issued for her.
The former Midwest City Middle School teacher has yet to be apprehended. Although the legal age of consent in Oklahoma is 16, adults in positions of authority can still be charged with having sexual relationships with children aged 18 and under.
Reneau met the teen, who is a student in the district, at a soccer practice, according to new court documents filed in Oklahoma County District Court.
Reneau, who was an assistant soccer coach at the time, ‘heard rumors that he liked her and wanted to watch her run,’ according to court documents obtained by KFOR.
According to court records, Reneau then added the adolescent on Snapchat and then sent him 3 or 4 naked pictures and an inappropriate video, which the adolescent showed to a few of his teammates.
Reneau told Midwest City police that she sent the pictures to the teen but turned down any physical relationship, according to KFOR.
According to court papers, the former teacher only admitted that they had ‘talked about hanging out one time but never followed through on it.’
Reneau is now facing a felony charge but has not been arrested.
