Police in Atlanta announced on Thursday that they had made a 2nd arrest in the murder of a woman at a bowling alley last month over a bowling ball, according to authorities.
Imani Spears was arrested in the killing of LaKevia Jackson, according to the Atlanta Police Department. The case has gotten a lot of attention because Jackson and rapper Young Thug have a son together.
Young Thug has yet to comment on the case, and his representatives have stated that he will not be issuing a statement.
At a press conference attended by Mayor Andre Dickens and Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant, Atlanta Police announced the news while outlining numerous recent “significant arrests.”
Before being arrested, Spears had no prior criminal history, according to APD Homicide Commander Ralph Woolfolk.
She is from Lithonia, according to jail records, and she is charged with murder and felony possession of a firearm.
Joshua Fleetwood, 25, was previously arrested in connection with the murder. He is charged with the same offenses as Spears, plus a third charge of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
Jackson, 31, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Metro Fun Center on Metropolitan Parkway in southwest Atlanta in mid-March. APD had previously claimed that Fleetwood was the one who shot Jackson, but they provided no additional information on Thursday about Spears’ alleged role in the killing.
