A mother was killed and a father was critically injured after being shot by their adult son in southwest Houston on Tuesday, according to police.

Officers said the shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. at a home in the 11200 block of Mulholland Drive, according to Click2Houston.

According to police, a 33-year-old man shot his mother and father. According to police, the man’s mother died as a result of her injuries, and the man’s father, who was shot several times, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The 33 year old man walked out of the home when police arrived and surrendered immediately.

Officers are currently unaware of a motive for the shooting.
