A Checker’s fast-food restaurant manager was arrested after allegedly shooting at a customer who was dissatisfied with the delay in receiving his food.
Wednesday’s incident occurred at the Checkers on 829 NW Broad Street in Murfreesboro, according to the Murfreesboro Police Department.
After the incident, the manager, 36-year-old Sherrika Starnes, left the restaurant and went to the Murfreesboro Police Department to speak with detectives.
According to the Murfreesboro Police Department’s preliminary investigation, two brothers paid full price for food around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to police, one of the brothers started complaining that his food was taking a long time and argued with Checkers employees. Afterwards, he allegedly demanded food or a refund.
During this time, a second individual began throwing rocks at the 2 brothers from the parking area.
According to the authorities, the manager yelled at the men and requested them to leave. Then, Starnes allegedly exited the restaurant with a pistol. After one of the brothers threw a drink at her, she fired a single shot at him.
The brothers fled unharmed to the Jackson Motel next door and awaited the arrival of the police.
Starnes was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. She was taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, but was subsequently released after posting a $5,000 bond.
