A taxi hit a bicyclist, jumped a curb, and plowed into pedestrians in Midtown Manhattan, injuring six people, three critically.

It happened at Broadway and 29th Street around 1 p.m. The cab was westbound on 29th Street and turning left onto Broadway when a CitiBike rider in his path caused a collision.

Police believe the driver began to panic and mashed the gas instead of the brake, veered onto the sidewalk, and mowed down multiple pedestrians.

The driver said his brakes weren’t working, but investigators will look into operator error.

15 to 20 good Samaritans tried to lift the cab off the victims in what the NYPD called a “remarkable scene.”

The yellow cab hit six people, who were taken to Bellevue Hospital.

3 women are critical but stable. All should survive. A 32-year-old Mexican woman with a severe leg injury, a 32-year-old Mexican woman with body bruising, and a 48-year-old Ohio woman with a severe leg injury are among them.
