Police in Winston-Salem are investigating a shooting that occurred at three different locations and injured seven individuals.

After 7:30 p.m. Sunday, police got a gunshots fired call.

Officers stated that the 7 individuals who were injured were all involved in the very same shooting and that their injuries were all non-life threatening.

The three scenes are located in Fairview Park, Highway 52, and the 2000 block of East 25th Street, according to investigators.

Officers arrived at 925 Bethlehem Lane and discovered over 50 bullet casings from various caliber firearms in the street and park.

Officials verified the discovery of two people on Highway 52, just south of the 25th Street Exit.

The people had gunshot wounds to the head and face, consistent with being hit by bullets while driving northbound on Highway 52.

They were transported to a local hospital by Forsyth County EMS, and their injuries are not life-threatening.

The police were then informed that a 7th victim had arrived at a local hospital with an only one bullet wound to his torso. That person was also shot in the 2000 block of East 25th Street and arranged for his own transportation to a nearby hospital.

The investigation is still in its initial stages, but evidence would suggest that there was a huge exchange of gunfire at 925 Bethlehem Lane, followed by more shots being fired in the 2000 block of East 25th Street, resulting in five victims on 25th Street and two victims on Highway 52 North.

The investigation is ongoing because this was not a random act of violence.
