Authorities say a 5-year-old Arkansas boy fatally shot his 8-year-old brother with an unlocked handgun in what authorities suspect was an unintentional shooting.
The 8-year-old was discovered unresponsive Thursday afternoon at a residence in Pine Bluff, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. He was declared dead at the scene.
According to Woods, the 5-year-old and 4 other children will be placed in the care of a family member pending further investigation.
According to the sheriff, investigators are now evaluating whether charges will be filed.
