Officials say one fireman was murdered and another was injured in a shooting at a fire department in Agua Dulce on Tuesday, and officials were responding to a home fire nearby while hunting for the shooter.

The shots were fired approximately 10:55 a.m. at Los Angeles County Fire Department station 81 in the 8700 block of Sierra Highway, according to a tweet from fire authorities.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived to the area and discovered at least one person down, but there were possibly more casualties, according to Deputy Michelle Sanchez, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

A fire department source verified that one fireman was killed and another was injured, according to KTLA.

According to law enforcement officials, the gunman had clashed with officers after the shooting and was entrenched in a residence on Bent Spur Drive.
