Alabama Woman Charged After Reportedly Murdering A Man In Front Of His Children

A woman from Birmingham has been charged in the shooting murder of a man in front of his young children over the weekend.

Chelsie Jones, 27, was charged with capital murder on Tuesday, according to police. Montrell Holloway, 29, was killed in the murder.

Holloway was discovered dead shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sunday. West Precinct officers responded to the home on a report of someone being shot, according to Birmingham police Sgt. Rod Mauldin. Holloway was discovered unresponsive in a hallway. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service.

The slaying appears to be domestic in nature, according to Mauldin. The relationship between Jones and Holloway has not been revealed, but the children in the home at the time of the brutal murder were under the age of 12 and were Holloway’s children, according to authorities.

Because the children were present when Holloway was killed, the charge is capital murder. Jones will be held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
