After 22 years of marriage, Anthony Anderson and Alvina Stewart are calling it quits.
According to documents obtained by The Blast on Monday, Stewart filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Courts, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their marriage ending.
Stewart asserts that the date of split is “TBD,” and she is demanding spousal support from the “Black-ish” star.
The documents reportedly state that “all gifts and inheritance, all assets, earnings, accumulations, and debts acquired by Petitioner prior to the date of marriage and after the date of separation, the exact nature and extent of which are unknown.”Embed from Getty Images
Anderson and Stewart’s marriage has reportedly been in shambles for a long time.
Stewart filed for divorce in 2015, but the petition was dismissed, and she and Anderson worked things out for that moment in time. The couple has made numerous red carpet appearances together.
In 2018, Anderson, 51, was accused of assaulting a woman, a charge he vigorously denied.Embed from Getty Images
“It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report, whether it is true or false,” Anderson’s rep said at the time in a statement to Variety. “The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim.”
It was unclear whether the couple had a prenuptial agreement. After having met in college at Howard University, they married in 1999.
They have two adult children, Kyra, 26, and Nathan, 22, so Stewart will not seek child support this time.
