At Least 14 People Shot, 3 Dead, After Mass Shooting in Philadelphia

Late Saturday night, gunmen fired into a gathering on South Street in Philadelphia, striking at least 14 people and killing 3.

Before midnight, it occurred on South Street between 2nd and 3rd streets. The police reported hearing many gunshots and then observing several gunmen fire into a sea of people.

Inspector D. F. Pace of the Philadelphia Police Department stated that an officer fired a gun at one of the gunmen. Unknown is whether the suspect was wounded, but they did drop their weapon and fled.

When the officer decided to engage, he was “within 10 to 15 yards of the shooter, witnessing this person fire into the crowd,” according to Pace.

According to officials, at least 14 persons were struck by the onslaught of gunfire. 3 of them, 2 men and a woman, died in the hospital after being shot numerous times.

Pace stated that two firearms were discovered at the site, one of which had an extended magazine. Police stated that the search for the gunman continued early Sunday morning.
