The perpetrator in a heinous attack in Waikiki on Friday morning has been charged.
Jason Walker, 46, was charged with attempted murder on Saturday after allegedly hacking off a man’s hand with a sword, according to Honolulu Police.
According to Shayne Enright, a representative for Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, emergency personnel were called to the convenience store shortly after midnight Friday.
The man was discovered at the parking lot’s entrance with “many lacerations, puncture wounds, and a severed hand,” according to Enright. “Left hand.”
The 40-year-old male was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
An employee at the Kalakaua Avenue store who answered the phone stated no one who was there at the time was still there.
