Beyoncé did not perform live from the Oscars stage, but rather from a tennis court in Compton – the very same tennis court where Venus and Serena Williams practiced as young kids, laying the groundwork for their careers as iconic tennis champions.

The performance was dedicated to the Williams sisters and the film King Richard, which is centered on Venus and Serena’s lives and early life experiences while putting the focus on their legendary father and former coach strength, perseverance, and love.
