Body Parts Found in Dumpster After Police Discover Man's Body in U-Haul Truck

Philadelphia law enforcement officers discovered a severed body packed in a garbage bag in the back of a U-Haul truck while responding to a report in Northeast Philadelphia on Thursday morning.

Sources say that a person of interest is in custody for the dismembered corpse on Thursday.

Detectives said that someone called about burglary in progress at the home and then stated seeing a U-Haul truck leaving the scene.

When the police pulled the rental vehicle over, the driver and the person inside didn’t attempt to flee. Instead, according to Sgt. Eric Gripp, the police spokesman, the driver was straightforward with the policemen.

“The vehicle pulled over, and as soon as the officers got out of the car the driver of the U-Haul just came right out the door and said, ‘I don’t want anything to do with this,’ and ‘There’s a body in the back,'” Sgt. Eric Gripp said.
