Authorities said one person was taken into custody after US Customs and Border Patrol Protection agents discovered $60,000 in methamphetamine jammed into child booster seats at a California border crossing.

On June 15, agents from the Newton Azrak Border Patrol Station in Murrieta stopped a vehicle on the 15 Freeway.

According to authorities, there were 2 adults and 4 kids inside the vehicle.

CBP said in a news release Friday that a Border Patrol K-9 squad notified the agents to the existence of narcotics inside the children’s 3 booster seats.

CBP officials said that when agents searched the children’s seats, they discovered numerous parcels of a white crystal substance that managed to turn out to be meth.

According to the agency, the driver was caught in possession of 26.9 pounds of crystal meth with an approximated street value of $60,000.

The driver was arrested and the vehicle was seized on suspicion of attempting to smuggle methamphetamine in the booster seats.

According to authorities, the 4 kids and their mom have been released.
