According to arrest documents, a New Port Richey man has been arrested on a felony charge Saturday after police stated he threw a hot dog at a cop who was notifying him about a city ordinance violation.

Officers said Jason Stoll, 47, of New Port Richey, ignored the advice and kept selling hot dogs in the roadway around 12 a.m. Saturday, despite the fact that his street closure permit had expired.

Stoll was asked to put down the hot dog, but police said he kept selling it.

Stoll then became “extremely upset,” according to the documents, before hurling the hot dog at the cop.

At the time of the incident, the officer was dressed in full police uniform.

Stoll was charged with battery on a police officer and nonviolent resistance to an officer. If convicted, he could face up to three years in prison.
