Central Park 'Karen' Amy Cooper Case Gets Dismissed

New York prosecutors dropped a charge against Amy Cooper, a woman who was widely recognized after challenging a Black birdwatcher in Central Park who wanted her to put her dog on a leash.

In July last year, Cooper, who is white, was charged with filing a false report over the confrontation with Christian Cooper, no association.

Prosecutors have said that Amy Cooper had undergone counseling, including guidance on racial prejudice. The therapist involved called the sessions “a moving experience” and said that Cooper “learned a lot.” The judge has dropped the charge.
