Shaina Bell, a 24-year-old mother of three, was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor child endangerment in Liberty Township, Ohio, after she left two of her children alone in a motel room while she worked at Little Caesars.

Following a pretrial hearing in Girard Municipal Court on May 26 in which Bell pled no guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct and the court dismissed child endangerment charges against her, the judge apologized to 24-year-old Shaina Bell.

In court, Judge Jeffrey Adler stated that the situation should have been handled by the appropriate social services organization and that Bell should never have been detained, according to The Root.

According to NBC 10, a GoFundMe campaign put up by Bell to assist her in finding a permanent home and other financial assistance has generated more than $150,000 in donations.
