The car of Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed was shot up in Louisiana, but he was not in the vehicle at the time and has not been accused of any improper conduct, according to authorities.

The Minden Police Department informed TMZ Sports that gunfire erupted sometime Friday afternoon in Minden, where Sneed played high school football.

According to a department spokesperson, Sneed’s Ford Bronco, in which the 25-year-old football player was not a passenger at the time, was struck by gunfire and Sneed later arrived on the scene to investigate.

According to reports, Sneed and the others were detained for questioning by police at the scene, but Sneed was eventually not arrested or criminally charged and was released.

Two of Sneed’s friends were driving the vehicle at the time of the shooting, according to sources close to Sneed, who believe the incident was random.

The police are conducting an investigation to determine who fired upon the vehicle, according to the spokesperson. Currently, no arrests have been made, the spokesperson added.

The Chiefs selected Sneed in the 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft, and he rapidly has become one of the team’s top players.

In his two years with the team, he has started 21 games and recorded five interceptions, three sacks, and 117 tackles.
