Behind Will & Jada Pinkett Smith and Chris Rock’s Shaky History

Although Will Smith issued an Instagram apology to Chris Rock for slapping him on national tv during the Academy Awards, the comedian’s brother claims it is insufficient.

“Jada, love you, ‘G.I. Jane 2,’ can’t wait to see it,” Chris Rock joked about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair, before Smith went onstage and smacked Rock. Pinkett Smith suffers from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss.

He went back to his seat and cursed the comic before going on to win the Academy Award for best actor for his portrayal as Richard Williams in “King Richard.”

Chris Rock’s brother Tony, who is also a comic, reacted to multiple queries about the event on Twitter on Tuesday night.

“Do you approve of the apology?” one person asked Tony Rock.

“No,” he replied.

Tony Rock also stated that, despite claims to the contrary, the two stars had not reconciled, and he reposted another comment applauding his big brother.

Tony Rock concluded his Twitter session by urging his fans to see Chris Rock’s 2009 documentary “Good Hair,” which examines the significance of hair in Black culture.

“Be sure to watch ‘Good Hair’ since the narrative is now changed to all my bro does is disrespect women of color,” Tony Rock tweeted.
