A member of the Cambridge School Committee believes that her family was racial profiled and suspected of stealing when visiting an apple farm in Danvers, Massachusetts, in the week.
Both the town and the farm have now issued formal apologies.
Manikka Bowman, vice-chair of the Cambridge School Committee, and Jeff Myers wrote in an online message stating their family was questioned at Connors Farm for having too many apples that were not in pre-paid bags.
Security personnel searched the Bowman’s pocketbook, according to the family, and the cops were called.
Danvers Town Officials responded to the family’s letter with a written statement on Thursday. Check out the clip below to see what transpired, plus the apologies.
