According to WXYZ , Wayne County Prosecutors have charged a 30-year-old Detroit woman in correlation with the shooting of her 13-year-old son.
According to authorities, the boy was shot on the side of his forehead by his 10-year-old cousin. The younger child had discovered the gun, which belonged to a family member.
“This case came to our office on the same day as another child shooting case, as a result of unsafe storage of a weapon,“ said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy in a news release.
Brianna Williams has been charged with child abuse in the second degree. On Sunday, she was arraigned and given a $2,000 personal bond. She is scheduled to appear in court again on May 6.
