A Michigan woman nearly lost her eyesight after she mistakenly used nail glue instead of eye drops.

Yacedrah Williams stated she woke up around 1 in the morning and was looking to remove her eye contacts. She dug in her purse for some eye drops but grab the bottle of glue instead.

“I was like, ‘Oh my goodness.’ It dropped in my eye, and I tried to wipe it away. It sealed my eye shut,” Williams told WXYZ. “I just started throwing cold water, and I was trying to pull my eyes apart but couldn’t. I was just screaming for him to call 911.”

Doctor’s had to remove the contact and open her eyes at the hospital.

 Dr. George Williams of Beaumont Health told ABC7, “she’s not the first person to make this mistake.”

The doctor said when things like this occur the best thing to do is to flush your eye out under a faucet or with a water bottle

“You’ll make a mess, but you may save your vision,” he said.
