The bond for a chronic offender accused of breaking into the house on Monday and trying to sexually assault a 6-year-old kid has been set at $200,000.

Boroskie Richard, 37, has been charged with  burglary of a habitation. According to Texas Department of Public Safety data, he has a long and violent criminal history.

According to court records, Richard broke into a family’s home and assaulted a young boy who was sleeping in his bed. When the boy’s father overheard his son screaming, he ran to the room and discovered Richard.

In probable cause court, the details of the attack were recounted aloud.

“He heard the 6-year-old complainant screaming, found the defendant in their home and observed the defendant was on top of the complainant. We do believe that the defendant is a threat to public safety. He has committed violent offenses in the past,” the prosecutor stated.

Richard’s court-appointed attorney informed the judge that his client lives with his 3 kids, who are being cared for momentarily by their grandparents.

A temporary restraining order was issued. Richard is not to have contact with the 6-year-old, is not to be within 500 feet of schools, parks, or playgrounds, and is not to engage in any unsupervised contact with minors under the age of 17.

Richard, who has been on parole for reportedly attacking a close relative, is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. A judge has ordered that Richard be placed with a GPS ankle bracelet in addition to the $200,000 bond.

Richard, who was born in New Guinea, had been jailed many times in Houston and Harris County for crimes dating back to 2006.
