A cleaning team employed at an abandoned home in Detroit discovered a gruesome find on a couch; an adult human skeleton.

According to WJBK, it’s unknown if the remains discovered Thursday were those of a male or a female.

Quincy Norman, who works for a company that contracts with the Detroit Land Bank said, “I see all kinds of stuff, these are abandoned houses we’re talking about. I walked past the couch that I walked past like a week ago and nothing has changed in the house — but I didn’t see it until today.”

Norman stated that seeing the skeleton made him make a double-take. Norman told WJBK, “It was leaned over on the couch like may have been sleeping or something.” 

He gathered his crew and they cleared the home, locked the door and immediately called 911. Neighbors that spoke with WJBK stated they haven’t seen anyone at the residence in 2 years.
