On Sunday night in Sandy Springs, police arrested a woman accused of fatally hitting a 25-year-old man and his pup.

Dominique Houston, 38, of Newnan, is accused of hitting and killing Michael Farmer and his Catahoula, Bruce,, according to authorities. Two counts of hit-and-run, first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and following too closely have been filed against Houston.

According to investigators, Farmer and his dog were struck by a white sedan traveling east, and both died as a result of their injuries. The same automobile was also implicated in a separate hit-and-run near Roswell Road and I-285, according to authorities.

When the fatal pedestrian collision occurred, authorities said the accused was breaking the speed limit fleeing the scene of the first accident.
