Drunk Driver Going 115mph Reportedly Kills Mother and 3 Children in Texas

Deputies pulled over drunk driver 30 minutes before 115 mph crash

According to investigators, the motorist accused of causing a multi-vehicle crash in Spring that killed a mother and her three children was traveling at 115 mph.

On Monday, constable detectives with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office stated that after analyzing the black box in Daniel Canada’s automobile, they uncovered that he was speeding at 115 miles per hour two seconds before the crash on FM 2920.

Canada is accused of driving down FM 2920 with a blood alcohol level almost double the alcohol limit on Sunday night. Initially, information indicated that he was traveling at around 100 miles per hour when he collided with Porsha Branch’s car.

Porsha’s sedan burst into flames in the aftermath of the crash, which resulted in a seven-car pile-up. The 28-year-old mother was killed, as were three of her sons who were also in the car: Drake, 7 months old, Messiah, 2 years old, and King, 5 years old.

Canada was pulled over for speeding by a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy on Sunday night, just 30 minutes before the horrific crash. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy seized marijuana, but did not administer a field sobriety test, and allowed Canada to continue driving.
