According to Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy, ESPN fired NBA analyst and former Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce on Monday, just days after his wild Instagram Live on Friday night.

Pierce has been employed for ESPN since his retirement from the NBA after the 2016-17 season, and has been a regular on “NBA Countdown,” “The Jump,” and other NBA news for the company.

On Friday night, Pierce went live on Instagram in a large room of dancers, smoking, drinking, and seemingly playing poker with his buddies — all while blatantly disregarding simple COVID-19 safety protocols. The videos went viral on social media during and after the live broadcast.
