Sage Steele, a veteran ESPN anchor, was reportedly injured during the opening round of the PGA Championship in Oklahoma on Thursday.

According to Geoff Shackelford of the Quadrilateral, Steele was hit in the face at the Southern Hills Country Club by an inadvertent tee shot from Jon Rahm. One eyewitness, according to Shackelford, observed Steele “on the ground, holding her nose, mouth, or chin area” while her hands were “covered in blood.”

Shackelford reported that the PGA of America was unaware of Steele’s treatment by medical personnel following the incident. Instead, the organization deferred to ESPN on the matter; ESPN has not yet commented on the veteran SportsCenter personality or her situation.

Steele, an ESPN employee since 2007, has reportedly returned to Connecticut and will not be participating in the network’s coverage of the tournament this weekend, as reported by the New York Post.
