According to reports, a Florida mother was charged with child abuse after attacking a girl at her daughter’s school while donning a boxing glove.
According to a Jacksonville police arrest report, Edith Riddle, 34, was arrested on Thursday.
A school safety officer heard a “frantic” announcement over the school radio around noon about a brawl outside the cafeteria.
According to the report, Riddle got into a physical altercation with a child who was not related to her. The girl was discovered with abrasions on her knees and forearms.
According to cops, Riddle was on campus for a conference with the vice-principal and her daughter.
Rather than leaving the building, the daughter went straight to the cafeteria to fight a girl, according to authorities.
According to the report, Riddle’s daughter punched the other girl before Riddle joined in, hurling punches herself. Riddle arrived at the school wearing a boxing glove and told officials it was superglued to her wrist and she couldn’t get it off, according to FCN.
Before taking the child to a nearby hospital, the other girl’s parent arrived at the school and told law enforcement officers she wanted to press criminal charges.
Riddle was arrested and charged with “child abuse with a personal/special weapon” on one count.
