After spending eight years behind bars, former Bad Boy rapper Loon linked up with an old friend over the weekend. The Harlem native posted smiling pictures of him reunited with Diddy at his home in Los Angeles , California, on Sunday (September 20).

“Everything is not what it seems,” Loon wrote on Instagram. “After all that we’ve been through the love cannot be denied. We’ve travelled the world together, made millions together and at times we may not have always agreed, but by Allah, if I hadn’t experienced the things that we went through, I wouldn’t have become the man that I am today!”

Loon, who, after converting to Islam, changed his name to Amir Junaid Muhadith, was released in July from prison. In Belgium, he was arrested for trafficking in heroin in 2011. A year later he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess one kilogram or more of heroin with the intent to distribute.

The 45-year-old was sentenced to 14 years with a supervised release of four years, but the U.S. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, District Judge Terrence Boyle granted an early release stating it was a “extraordinary and compelling reason” and he was not considered a danger to society.
