This month, a former Orlando area theme park worker and Central Florida teacher was found guilty of trying to meet a minor for sex.

According to a Department of Justice news release, Dennis Lee Line, 51, of Winter Springs, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life in federal prison.

According to the New York Post, Lee, a former Universal Orlando employee, taught at Oviedo High School for 18 years, ending in 2019.

On February 9, Lee met what he thought was a 15-year-old girl on an online dating app. Later that same day, the 15-year-old girl — who was in fact an undercover cop — and Line started texting one another.

According to the release, Line started a discussion about sex and a gathering later that evening so that he could instruct her about sex and perform oral sex on her in the messages.

After leaving his job at a theme park, Line agreed to visit the 15-year-old girl in Orange County. Line had no idea the 15-year-old girl was a covert police officer. When Line showed up at the meeting spot, he was arrested.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Orlando Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation all looked into the case.

The sentencing date is set for November 2.
