Shocking Details: Grandmother Charged With Murdering 2-Year-Old Granddaughter; Body Found in a Cooler

A grandmother has been charged with murder in the death of her two-year-old granddaughter. Previously, LaTonya Austin was simply charged with gross abuse of a corpse and evidence tampering.

According to Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters, Austin murdered her granddaughter, Zaila Lee, on March 24.

He also said Zaila died with a serious laceration and a broken arm. The corpse of the young child was discovered in a cooler on Austin’s premises.

According to Austin, Zaila was killed by her sibling, who shook her and then slashed her with scissors.

According to investigators, she eventually confirmed that the two-year-old had been deceased for a month.
