On Thursday, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office released dash camera footage of two cops who were assaulted during a traffic stop on U.S. 192 in West Melbourne on August 30.
Deputy Brian Potters was shot in the leg amid the vicious attack, according to the sheriff’s office. According to officials, the gunman, Paris Wilder, was fatally shot by Deputy Tyler Thoman.
The dashcam video begins with Thoman and Potters conversing with two individuals outside the automobile that had been pulled aside.
In the backseat, Potters spots a 2-month-old baby and a dog seated beside a man subsequently confirmed as Wilder.
The deputy motioned for the man to exit the vehicle, and the footage then reveals Wilder exiting the vehicle and pointing an AR-15-style gun at Potters.
