A gunman riding a scooter shot an 11-year-old girl in the stomach in the Bronx on Monday night, according to ABC7.

Kyhara Tay, an 11-year-old Bronx girl who was a half-block away when the gunfire erupted, has been identified.

Police have released surveillance footage of the shooting and the people they are looking for.

The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. at 995 Westchester Avenue in the Longwood neighborhood.
According to NYPD, a man was being pursued by 2 accused persons riding a scooter on Fox Avenue, Westchester Avenue, and 165th Street.

When the man tried to enter 1015 Fox Street, the scooter passed him. That’s when he allegedly started running the opposite way.

The man was then shot by the passenger on the scooter.

According to police, one of the bullets hit the 11-year-old girl in the stomach about a half block away on Fox Street.

The 11-year-old girl burst into the salon, begging for assistance.

She was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries.
