Heartbreaking: 17-Year-Old Playing with Gun Shoots & Kills Twin Brother in Stone Mountain, Georgia

A DeKalb County teen has died after being shot by his twin brother, according to police.

According to DeKalb County police, the 17-year-old brothers were attempting to play with a firearm in a bedroom of a residence on the 5100 block of Young Knoll in Stone Mountain when it ended up going off and struck one of the teenagers, Dimitri Hayes, in the face.

He was transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

According to police, the surviving twin, Xavier Hayes, is now being held at the DeKalb County Jail on felony murder and aggravated assault charges.

At this moment, there is currently no word on whether the boys’ parents will face charges.
