An 11-year-old boy that jumped out of a Walton County bus on Wednesday is recovering with a broken elbow and concussion. His father says that his son did it to get away from bullies.

The family stated that this incident went too far but this also isn’t the first and they’ve notified school official about previous incidents.

The father, Dion Murphy said, “Death. [That’s the] first thing I’m thinking when I hear you jumped out a vehicle because I’m curious if it was moving and I’m thinking about moving traffic and I was concerned he’d get ran over or killed,”

The father got a chance to view the bus footage on Friday at Youth Middle School. He states, “One student jumped in his face, he was pushing him against the window, when he fell, the other student took his shoe and in a desperate attempt to escape it, he jumped out the window.”

Authorities say the boy fell on top of a pick up truck and then on the highway.
