Newly released the footage shows the moment when officers killed a homeless black man after he allegedly reached for a deputy gun, his family said the cops escalated the situation as they accosted him to the ground over an alleged jaywalking incident.
Kurt Reinhold, a 42-year-old father-of-two and a former bodybuilder who had fallen on hard times, was fatally shot on September 23 when cops from Orange County, Eduardo Duran, and Jonathan Israel, accosted him at the intersection of California.
The footage, released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, includes video dashcam from the deputies’ patrol car, security camera footage from the nearby motel, and footage from a witness’s cell phone.
