Horrible: 73-Year-Old Man Dies After Teens Brutally Assault Him in Philadelphia

Police are looking for a group of seven teen perpetrators who brutally attacked a 73-year-old man in North Philadelphia last month with a cone as well as other objects, knocking the man to the ground and resulting head injuries.

Police have identified the victim as James Lambert, who died from his injuries the next day.

Lambert was alone, only just few blocks from his house, when he was struck from behind by seven teenagers. According to police, the man did nothing at all to trigger the assault.

Lambert was taken to Temple University Hospital following the attack and died the next day.

Police are looking for a band of seven juveniles ranging in age from 13 to 17 years old. Four boys and three girls are among the suspects. Investigators are still working on the identities of the accused persons.

On Friday, police released surveillance video of the incident.

Surveillance footage shows youths pursuing Lambert when one throws a traffic cone at him. Lambert is struck down and tries to escape a young girl’s second blow.

Two teens assaulted Lambert while others watched, police allege.

Surveillance video suggests one of the teen offenders had their phone out throughout the incident, but investigators haven’t seen any social media clip.

Police are investigating whether the teens are linked to prior local assaults.

Investigators are urging the teens’ parents to hand over their children.

The police department is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
