Following Fulton County’s 56-count indictment, Young Thug and Gunna may be behind jail and facing a litany of crimes. But, at the very least, Young Thug is being backed by his family.
According to a WSB-TV broadcast that aired Tuesday night, May 10, a man claiming to be Young Thug’s dad has stepped forward to express his opinion on the case.
In a short interview with the publication, Jeffrey Williams Sr. stated that he feels his son was “unfairly linked” to the offenses outlined in the 88-page indictment, which includes accusations of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), murder, and armed robbery.
“I think my son has been unfairly linked to a lot of things,” Williams Sr. said. “but, you know, it’s up to us to prove it.”
“I’m gonna fight for him to the end,” Williams Sr. added. “I’m his father. That’s what I do.”
During a news conference on Tuesday, May 10, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis described Thug’s record label Young Stoner Life (also known as ‘Young Slime Life’) as a street gang allegedly linked with the Bloods group. Willis claims that YSL accounts for “80 percent of violent crime in Atlanta.”
On Tuesday, Young Thug made his first court appearance before Gunna, who is also charged with conspiracy to violate RICO. Willis also stated that the 28 individuals included in the indictment face “maximum penalties,” including life in prison.
