A sheriff’s deputy in Virginia shot a man several times after giving him a ride home, leaving, and then returning to the man’s house for assistance.

After being shot outside his home in Spotsylvania County early Wednesday, Isaiah Brown, 32, is in intensive care with ten bullet wounds, according to his family.

“The officer just started shooting at him for no reason. I didn’t hear a warning shot. All I heard was ‘Hands up!’ one time. And all he had was his phone, so I know he put his hands up,” Isaiah Brown’s brother, Tazmon Brown, said.

State police say Brown’s car broke down at 2 am at a gas station several miles from his home. The deputy gave Brown a ride home. Brown’s own brother reportedly spoke with the deputy when they arrived.

Isaiah Brown called 911 not too long after the deputy departed. The call was listed as a ‘domestic situation’ between Brown and a relative in the home.

Tazmon Brown says he thinks his brother just wanted to get back to his car before it would be towed. The same deputy that dropped him off…returned and started shooting for no reason, according to Isaiah Brown’s siblings.

Isaiah Brown is in surgery with wounds to his neck, face, chest and pelvic area. State police have confirmed that he was unarmed.
