Japanese City Says Monkeys Are Trying to Snatch Up Babies & Attacking People!

Monkeys are terrorizing the citizens of a Japanese community, preying on young toddlers and infants and even congregating at daycare centers.

Officials in the city of Yamaguchi in southwestern Japan said a group of monkeys has been conducting the attacks since July 8, biting and scratching at human flesh and getting into nurseries in an attempt to steal infants.

At least 58 people have been attacked, and the city has responded by hiring a special unit to pursue the monkeys using tranquilizers; a 15-pound monkey has already been captured and killed.

Officials say that the monkeys aren’t concerned about food, thus traps are ineffective, and that they mostly target toddlers and the elderly by creeping up behind them and grasping their legs.

There are photographs of monkeys looking through windows and lingering outside schools.
