Even though anti-masking was still a topic of discussion at a Wednesday night school board meeting in Texas, matters ended up taking a remarkably different turn. Former Lake Travis ISD school board candidate Kara Bell took the podium and went on to read a snippet from the book Out of Darkness, that explained graphic sexual acts, specifically the term “cornhole.”
“I do not want my children to learn about anal sex in middle school,” Bell told the board. “I’ve never had anal sex. I don’t want to have anal sex. I don’t want my kids having anal sex. I want you to start focusing on education and not public health!”
Following Bell’s objection, Lake Travis Independent School District revealed on Thursday that the book had been removed from the library collections of its two middle schools.
