Las Vegas Wife Arrested in Husband's Murder After Claiming He Committed Suicide

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of a woman in connection with a fatal shooting in the west valley.

Just after 11:00 p.m. Monday, police responded to the area of West Katie Avenue, near El Capitan Way and Twain Avenue.

According to investigators, Emily Ikuta, 37, lied to authorities, claiming that the male, identified as her husband, shot himself at their home.

Ikuta was apprehended and charged with the open murder with a deadly weapon.

A Clark County Coroner’s Office investigation will determine the victim’s identity, as well as the cause and manner of his death.

Ikuta is still being held in custody. Judge Harmony Letizia has scheduled an arrest warrant return hearing for Friday, March 26 at 8 a.m.
