Frank McRae, the actor who played in ‘The Last Action Hero’ and ‘James Bond’, died at the age of 80.

His daughter-in-law reported to Variety that the actor died of a heart attack in Santa Monica on April 29.

Frank played defensive tackle for the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Rams in the 1960s and was best known for his appearance as the famous spy’s friend Sharkey in 1989’s Licence to Kill, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the Post, during his three-decade career, the Memphis, Tennessee native appeared in over 40 films. McRae, who stood at a towering six-and-a-half foot tall, dominated tough guy roles in films varying from “Big Wednesday” to “48 Hours,” and even “National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 2.”

His son Marcellus, as well as his grandchildren Camden, Jensen, and Holden, survive him.

After a brief career in sports, Frank made his acting debut in the 1973 film Dillinger, playing bank robber Reed Youngblood.
