In Atlanta, police arrested the man accused of pulling the trigger on a car at a traffic light, injuring a 3-year-old.
Kentavious Wright, 24, was charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder, cruelty to children, and gang-related offenses, according to police. Police believe he shot 3-year-old Javon Jewell on Aug. 3 near Peters and Chapel Streets after the child’s dad took his kids to get a haircut.
The child was saved, but a bullet was removed from his head.
Wright was arrested Friday and is being held at the Fulton County Jail, according to police.
According to police, Dajuan Jewell observed a car driving chaotically as they were leaving the barbershop. He told police that a car pulled alongside him at a red light and started shooting in the direction of the family.
Regis Yates, Javon Jewell’s grandfather, stated that a bullet was cleared from the child’s head. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston treated his 3-year-old grandson.
Police did not elaborate on what prompted investigators to apprehend Wright.
