A Georgia woman appears to have died as a result of a love triangle.

The Gwinnett County Police Department believes that on August 11, Ashley Bocanegra, 30, was persuaded to enter an apartment on Buford Drive by Antonetta Stevens, 27, and Janine Gonzalez, 17.

It appears that Stevens and Bocanegra were romantically involved with Gonzalez’s brother.

Stevens told detectives she was dating Gonzalez’s brother and discovered he was cheating on her with Bocanegra.

Bocanegra’s sister, Jessica Roche, stated on Friday that after arriving at the hospital, she was unable to even breathe and had to be flown to a different facility; unfortunately, Roche asserted that she passed away before surgery could begin.

Bocanegra had a 7-year-old son with the man, according to Roche, and he was the one who drove her to the hospital.

According to the woman and teen, the fight began when Bocanegra arrived looking for Gonzalez’s brother. Authorities believe Stevens and Gonzalez baited Bocanegra to their residence in order to assault her.

“They fractured her ribs and her liver,” Roche said. “She couldn’t breathe out of her mouth. They had to put the tube in.”

The victim’s phone was also taken in the course of the assault.

A felony murder charge, aggravated battery, and robbery have been brought against Stevens and Gonzalez.
