A guy charged with blasting at restaurant employees over bbq sauce is now being detained without bond in jail.

According to investigators, Andre Thomas, 36, became enraged about a takeaway order. Thomas is now being charged with two felonies: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary of a dwelling.

It is certainly bizarre,” Harris County District Attorney Jill Wells remarked.

According to Wells, it all began in January at Dickey’s BBQ Pit on Shady Drive in Northeast Harris County. According to prosecutors, Thomas received his order and then left.

“Then he calls the restaurant, angry and upset because the restaurant did not include enough BBQ sauce in his to-go order,” Wells explained.

Employees attempted to resolve the issue, but Thomas was dissatisfied and returned to the business.

“Now, he’s verbally threatening them [saying] ‘I’ll come back and shoot up the place,’” Wells explained. According to authorities, Thomas never left the parking lot.

“He waited for them to leave,”  Wells explained. “He was by some nearby gas pumps waiting for them to leave.”

Thomas allegedly followed the employees down the street and fired multiplre rounds into their car, according to investigators.

“He strikes one of the complaint victims five times, breaking a bone in their arm,”  she explained. “Thankfully, the other victim was not shot.”

Thomas is a convicted felon who was already out on bond and facing five further felony charges when the shooting occurred. He is now back in jail. All just for BBQ sauce.
